How We Work
An initial meeting if held at our offices, or locally to our offices, will be at our expense. This meeting offers the chance for our advisers to gain a full understanding of your financial position and objectives and to tell you more about Culver Financial Management. At the end of this first meeting we will be in a position to identify those areas where we can provide advice and to agree how we will be remunerated for this.
As independent financial advisers, we prefer to work on a fixed fee basis. This means that we will agree in advance a fixed price for the work we undertake. Working on a fee basis means you can be sure that the advice you are receiving is in your best interests and is not tainted by the need to generate commissions. Where advice is paid for by commission then it must inevitably lead to a product sale. Sometimes the best advice is to do nothing or is more planning than product led.
If it is practical for us to take a commission, we are happy to use this to offset our fee.
In most cases our advice is presented in the form of a financial planning report. Our reports are written in plain English and are focussed on a practical financial plan. The report will clearly communicate the benefits of our recommendations as well as any potential risks so that you can make informed decisions.
In most cases it will be appropriate to revisit your plan in order to take account of any changes to your personal circumstances as well as opportunities ands threats that the wider economic and legislative environment may present. Once your plan is implemented we will agree your review specification and how the cost of the ongoing service will be met.
